The rustle of the keys
I hear Mia whining behind the door
Joy of high degree
As we finally roll along the floor
From the balcony
The roofs on fire in the afterglow
This view is unbending me
Tonight I got nowhere to go
Hear my high heels bounce somewhere
The scarf lands on a chair
Just a shirt to wear

Waiting for me

And down at the shadowed street
Friendly banter, rollickin' gals
They stroll in the evening heat
To the house of a waiting pal
And the noble wood
Got the song still fresh in my mind
The whiff of solitude
Goes by as the chords unwind
Mia snores for a while
